A Life Finished Strong - In Memory of Larry Rudge

8/29/43 ~ 8/7/19

Larry was the first born of six children to Frank and Florence Rudge. Most of you have read about the miracle in Santa Fe where God used Larry to save his brother Bill’s life when he was hitchhiking across the country. After completing Teen Challenge’s two year program, Larry often volunteered his time and equipment to weed whack the ministry center. He was married to Laura for 36 years with 4 daughters, 2 step daughters and 18 grandchildren. Larry fought a courageous battle with lung cancer and died with a powerful witness to God’s amazing grace. After officiating at Larry’s funeral, someone commented to Bill that upon hearing Larry’s children and grandchildren speak, he realized that although Larry was materially poor he died a wealthy man with family who loved him so much. Many friends commented about his love for the Lord and his kindness and generosity.

It is not always how you run the race but how you finish – Larry finished strong. His heart for Jesus left a legacy of faith and love. Larry is in Heaven rejoicing with that “great cloud of witnesses” (Hebrews 12:1), awaiting all his loved ones to join him.
